The Utah State Seal of Biliteracy is still being awarded this year, even though the learning situation is different.
Here are the things that you may want to know:
1. If you need to take the AAPPL test in order to qualify for the Seal of Biliteracy, you need to let your World Language teacher know asap and she/he will contact Brooke Anderson to get you registered. Testing will be done at home this year and you need a web cam to test. Note to students: IF YOU PREVIOUSLY PASSED THE AAPPL WITH AN INTERMEDIATE MID OR HIGHER DURING OR AFTER YOUR 9TH GRADE YEAR, YOUR SCORE WILL BE ACCEPTED)
2. Students who wish to qualify for the Seal of Biliteracy, need to download, print, and complete the application link here: https://worldlanguages.jordandistrict.org/secondary/. When this application is complete, attach proof of your English proficiency and second language proficiency and get to your school counselor. Information on the requirements can be found at the link above.
3. Students need to send this information to their school counselor by May 1 and counselors get to Pam Su’a by May 6. ASL testing is the exception and will be done during the summer.
